A community of young medical students decided to join the ACCIG (Anesthesiology and Critical Care Interest Group) with the support of the Department's professors and with the endorsement of the SCARE (Colombian Society of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation) interested in the search and creation of spaces for academic and scientific cooperation related to the fields of anesthesiology, pain, intensive care and critical care.
The purpose of creating this interest group as a seedbed was to promote research, particularly in evidence synthesis in this area of knowledge, as well as education, communication, and networking of students and professionals in a group whose members share a particular interest and are recognized by the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA).
