Organization profile

The Research Seedbed in "Physical Activity, Health and Sports" is aimed at the foundation, deepening and application of research methods and processes related to education, physical education, physical activity, health and sports of the university population and Colombian society. It is intended to contribute to the reflection of the aforementioned fields to the extent that they are understood as educational and deepening spaces in which information and knowledge are distributed from the different professional training programs and disciplines offered by the PUJ.Due to the interdisciplinary vision of education and its relationship with physical education, science and other areas of knowledge that involve physical activity, health and sports, it is important to note that this Seedbed encourages the creation of a space for the training of undergraduate students in scientific research, which contains an interdisciplinary nature with the other areas of knowledge (medicine, physiotherapy, education, nutrition, psychology and exact sciences), so that there is a relationship between theory and practice in search of a solution tothe problems that surround physical activity, health, sports and lifestyles in Colombian society.Students aspiring to be an active part of the research hotbed must be people with an interest in investigating topics related to health, sports and public health, and of course have the desire to work and learn from interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary knowledge.Additionally, it is expected that interested students will have the purpose of creating spaces in which people's quality of life will be impacted in the future. The students belonging to the research hotbed are characterized by being critical, autonomous, creative and ethical people, taking into account the Ignatian Educational Project, correlated with the importance of assuming the demand as a life commitment and as the opportunity to achieve a high level of training.
