Description
The Structural Models Laboratory is a 400 square meter space designed for material characterization and the study of structures or structural elements under gravitational and seismic loads. This laboratory features:
An 8.5-meter high and 1.50-meter thick wall for the application of horizontal loads, using actuators ranging from 100 to 1000 Kilo Newtons, on full-scale structural models.
Two tables for the simulation of real earthquakes on full-scale and reduced-scale structures; one uniaxial measuring 1.5 meters on each side and the other biaxial measuring 3 meters on each side.
A 6-meter high universal testing machine for material characterization, capable of dynamic compression and tension loading of up to 2500 Kilo Newtons.
And over 100 sensors for the instrumentation of structural models including accelerometers, strain gauges, laser sensors, among others.
Services
