Environmental Research Laboratory

The Environmental Research Laboratory has a mixed activity, providing specialized services to the community, for which it has been accredited by IDEAM since 2015. It also carries out collaborative research activities with the IOMICAS institute, laboratory practices for various courses, and extension activities such as chromatography courses in collaboration with Educon. For the development of all analytical and administrative activities, the LIA has an area of approximately 130 m². Located in the Los Guayacanes Building on the third and fourth floors, the spaces are distributed as follows: On the third floor, chromatography equipment (30 m², climate-controlled for the protection of the equipment). On the fourth floor, sample reception (4 m²); weighing (1 m²); sample extraction for chromatographic tests (4 m², climate-controlled); sample and equipment preparation (40 m², climate-controlled); workstations (20 m²). All spaces are physically separated and equipped with all necessary resources to maintain climate control, lighting, and the required safe electrical conditions. The laboratory also has a 30 m² area for student work.
