Description

At the iÓMICAS Institute's Phenotyping Laboratory, we are dedicated to the comprehensive and systematic study of living organisms, with a particular focus on agricultural crops. We use cutting-edge technologies such as our automated PhenoAgro platform for large-scale phenotyping, which integrates advanced sensors, high-resolution cameras and an online interface for real-time crop monitoring. Our work ranges from non-invasive measurement of physical traits, yield and stress tolerance in plants, to the development of digital models to simulate biological processes and their environmental impact on livestock. Through these innovative tools, we seek to understand the complex interactions between genetics, environment and phenotype, thus contributing to precision agriculture, food security and climate change mitigation. At the Phenotyping Lab, we not only study life, but develop the technologies of the future to improve it, positioning ourselves at the forefront of sustainable agriculture and advanced agricultural research.
