Description

The School of Engineering has a modern 14,000 square meter laboratory building for teaching, research and service that promotes the growth and technological development of the country. Inaugurated in January 2020, this imposing structure of golden color, inspired by the phrase of the University's anthem “The Bronze of the Centuries”, has more than 96 spaces where our students and researchers seek to develop collaborative projects with social impact, excellence and responsibility; and respond to the services of the productive sector where the Faculty of Engineering is a strategic partner of the industry. Each of the spaces in the building was designed to be a living learning space under the premise of sharing knowledge, responding to lines of research such as big data and analytics, artificial intelligence, internet of things, energy and bioresources, health, sustainable infrastructure and transportation, environment and climate change, ICT and society, organization and corporate productivity, construction materials among others. As another example of the commitment of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with the care of our common home, the building was recognized with the World Bank's Edge Certification, which highlights its characteristics of efficient use of water and energy, use of environmentally friendly materials and its bioclimatic design.
